One of the big jolts I got twenty years ago when the I’m Batman EP was released was the support of a cat named Gary Gone, who ran a monthly music discovery site called the IndepenDisc Music Club. He wrote a really thoughtful review of the CD (and its companion piece, the Hoga-Rama EP), and even selected it as CD of the Year for 2004. Zoinks, what a rush!
Gary gave a lot of play and attention to numerous truly independent artists during IndepenDisc’s 15-year run, but as with most everything it couldn’t last forever. In 2013 Gary bought and took over Cygnus Radio, which has a mix of live and continuously streaming radio shows that showcase a wide variety of music, not unlike the Mid-70s FM AOR format where the new and the familiar coexist in a happy soup of musical bliss.

Anyway, this is all to say that Gary’s going to be playing the new I’m Batman (20th Anniversary Edition) in its entirety during his show this Thursday night, June 20th. The plan is that the second hour of his show will start with “Side 1” (which is the I’m Batman EP, basically) and close with “Side 2” (the Hoga-Rama EP). His show starts at 9pm EST, so that second hour begins at 10pm, but tune in early so you can catch a lot of great music beforehand!
You can get to the show by tuning in at Cygnus Radio.com, or this direct link to the livestream (which is cool ’cause you can click it now and listen to what’s playing at this moment!). Rock on with your badselves!
